I bought this to replace my old Magellan. While overall I was happy with the old one, it was the smaller model and I was ready for an upgrade. My old model was fine but it was more of a minor issue and didn't give street names and some of the options the newer models now offer. I gave the old one to my nephew and I am very happy with this new 3030 model. It picks up very quickly, especially compared to the old one. and the 3030 doesn't even bother with "calculations" - it gives you new instructions instantly based on where you are. This model seems much more "intuitive" to what you want to do. So far, of course, I've only been on routes that I already know. But I look forward to exploring new places. It was very easy to use and set up. I like the QWERTY keyboard (discovered later that it's an option - you can revert to alphabetical order if you prefer) when entering addresses, and I like the intersection option when programming. There are more bells and whistles to this model, and know it'll be 2011 before I explore most of them. They are ready to use out of the box, but there is plenty of room for experimentation within them. And it's really big! Good for us old people!
