Review on Junction Enclosure with Waterproof Plastic for Electronics by Carlos Barete

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Really didn't meet my needs. I had to do my homework

I ordered this box based on a review from another Amazon customer. This box should contain a 20 amp switch that I bought from Revain. The biggest disadvantages of the switch were the incompatibility with most electro boxes. Most of the Switch's reviewers have pointed this out and suggested various solutions. One reviewer said he used this box and it worked well and provided a link to the product so of course I ordered this box. When I received the box it was clearly too big for my Craftsman table saw. (I upgraded the motor to a 1.5hp Grizzley motor). The Grizzley motor drew a maximum of 16 amps and my 1.0hp Craftsman saw. drew 14 amps: This made me upgrade the power wire between the motor and the switch, and between the switch and the outlet. I also needed to upgrade the switch, so I needed a box case for the switch. My final solution was to make a box out of 3/4" thick cabinet quality plywood and 1/16" sheet metal that I pulled from an old electrical fuse box. My custom made box measures approximately 4 inches square and 3 inches deep. The Pinfox box was too big for this application. I intend to keep the box and not return it as I might find a use for it.

Pros
  • Six screw holes inside. If you want to make one of these, e.g. B. attaching a prototype board, the installation would not be a problem.
