Large box to install solar system monitoring meters

When I first received this box I thought it was too big to install 3 small electricity meters to monitor the power delivered by solar panels, charge controller and electricity consumption . of batteries. However, once I started connecting all the components, including the shunt for each of the meters, the size was perfect to accommodate all the shunts and the necessary wiring. It took some time to cut out the holes for installing the meters. It would be great if the manufacturer included some…

Here's an important tip if you're drilling holes for switches and indicators

Unfortunately, when you need to drill holes for switches and indicators on the front of a project box, you usually use large holes (1/2 inch or so ) drill. The flutes of a drill this size dig hard into this plastic, twisting it right out of your hand. How to drill this plastic. Start small. First drill a pilot hole with a small drill and gradually increase the size. I used a step drill which made the job easier. For final drilling with the large drill, run the drill backwards. You get a clean…

Great boxes for projects!

These are the best project boxes I have ever used. Very strong and strong. I would rate the wall thickness of the box at 1/8 inch or more. The lids fit well, the screws don't slip out of the holes. Various molded PCB mounting racks are located at the bottom of the box. I really can't comment on the waterproofness of the product as I use it for power supplies and RF projects that require ventilation. The product looks beautiful with no scratches or scuffs. I am very happy with it. I actually…

Pros
  • Rugged construction and IP65 water resistance to protect against dust, corrosion and splashing water.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Really didn't meet my needs. I had to do my homework

I ordered this box based on a review from another Amazon customer. This box should contain a 20 amp switch that I bought from Revain. The biggest disadvantages of the switch were the incompatibility with most electro boxes. Most of the Switch's reviewers have pointed this out and suggested various solutions. One reviewer said he used this box and it worked well and provided a link to the product so of course I ordered this box. When I received the box it was clearly too big for my Craftsman…

Awesome DIY Electronics Box

TL; DR - I bought 2 of these for DIY music gear, both turned out great! I use large boxes (200mm x 120mm x 75mm, black) for DIY electronics projects. Here are my key takeaways. Good properties: Easy to drill material. The thickness is perfect for mounting most components (switches, LEDs, potentiometers, power jacks, MIDI jacks, audio jacks, etc.). The top nuts built into the case are metal and will not wear out if you have to open it repeatedly. The box is very durable. The large box offers…
