Review on πŸš— EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pressure Feedback Sensor DPFE15 EPS4 Replacement for Ford Lincoln Mazda Mercury by Stephen Johnson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

lasted 3 months. for EGR valve position

Update: Lasted 90 days. The codes were returned in the middle of an out-of-town trip. I bought the part from Advance Auto with a lifetime replacement for about double the price. I'm sure some of these work great in the long run, but if you need a car on a daily basis I'd recommend getting something local with a lifetime payback. My 1997 Ford F150 4.6L engine was throwing (P0402) Excessive EGR Flow and (P0401) Insufficient EGR Flow. I tested the EGR valve myself using Forscan, a free software tool for Ford vehicles. The EGR valve worked perfectly. I also checked for vacuum leaks. Everything pointed to a defective DPFS sensor. The original part was metal and looked like the original block. Even Ford plug-ins are now plastic. The only functional difference between the units is the location of the hoses. In the OEM part, one is right in front of the other. In the new part they were close. You can see the original design in the attached photo. This makes reinstalling the hoses a bit more difficult. I would recommend removing them with a hook so you can clear carbon buildup from the hose. If you don't, you risk breaking the hose. I've driven the truck about 100 miles and no more codes came up. I will update the rating if a part is defective.
