Review on Gateway Safety 6980 Glasses Protective by Christopher Sullivan

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not what Safety and Security Magazine says

Well despite all the good reviews and claims about the product I find it lacking when it comes to the product itself. I ordered two of these and they came with two 10 ounce bottles of car wax. The box arrived in perfect condition but one of the glasses had the left lens cracked in half and they were badly worn. So after Revain arranged a return, he didn't want the broken pair to be sent back, so I ran my own tests on the pair. I was able to easily break them by hand with just a slight bend, and they scratch horribly and easily if I just rub them. Nowhere on the product does it say it's ANSI or CSA approved, not even on the label attached to the goggles. Safety rating statements could only be found on the plastic packaging in which they were supplied. To be honest I wouldn't trust this product for my safety if it breaks so easily and doesn't have clearly labeled ANSI/CSA ratings. by itself. Pros: Light weight Suitable for glasses Cons: Breaks easily Light scratches No ANSI/CSA marking on the glasses themselves (which means they cannot be used in the workplace)

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Dull packaging
