I was looking for a new torque wrench (tw) when I accidentally left my 10-100 lbft Husky injured for 3-4 months. I've never liked the cheap feel of a Husky so figured it would be a good excuse to find a better mic and check out a lot of twos including the CDI, Eastwood, Kobolt, PI and Tekton. Ultimately it was narrowed down to a PI 10-100 split beam and a CDI click mic, but eventually settled on the PI because it was something different. Given what happened to the Husky, I figured this tw would be useful since you don't have to constantly reset it to zero. I wasn't disappointed! Torque adjustment was very easy and quick. The numbers on my dial are black on white and the increments are every 2lb-ft so the torque quoted was quick and easy to achieve. The flexible head proved very comfortable and helped me get around the fenders. The clicking was VERY audible! It's different from my Husky and doesn't bounce back after a click. I can't think of any cons. I know people complain about the missing butt, but that seems to be the style. I looked down, there's a rubber stopper on the handle - so in a way it has a stopper, so it's ok. It's also a lot lighter than my old Husky TW and has a more premium feel/construction. I also have a digital TW as a backup, but I prefer mechanical TWs because it's just nicer to hear/feel when you hit your torque; I couldn't stand the beeps. The case it comes in is nothing out of the ordinary and looks and feels like most plastic cases come from big hardware stores. Comes with certification card with serial number and +/- 4% but wish they had verified torque values on them. Besides that, this TW ROCKS, why isn't it more popular? I can't wait to use it more.
