I have been using night vision goggles since the early 1980's and have seen many different models. Every unit I used had tubes and ranged in price from $4,000 to $40,000. This VMOTAL "goggles" uses the latest tubeless night vision technology. I was surprised how well it works for such a low price. Pros => Incredibly low price. The cheapest Gen3 tube mount costs 20 times as much. => Can change from darkness to intense light without hurting yourself. => The same device can be used as digital binoculars in daylight or in total darkness. => Good picture and distance. => Takes photos and videos and you can even play them right on your device. => Uses a Micro TF card and contains 32GB. You can carry a few of these in your bag and record for hours. Cons - <= You can't put them directly on your face like real night vision goggles unless you happen to be (?) very nearsighted. The simple fix is to keep them a few inches from your face. Of course, this has its downsideโฆ<= It will make your face light up. You can dim the image you're looking at a bit by turning down the IR light, but for the most part there's no way to dim the screen. This is a little annoying, but there's a workaround - grab a small piece of static window tint. Just cut and wear. It protects the screen and prevents your face from getting burned too much.<= You can mount it on a tripod, but you cannot mount it on a helmet or wear it.<= Like other NODs, he likes food. Batteries and batteries can not be used. I took it to my garage for the night where it was completely dark. I took some shots to show how it glows and how it can be scaled. The buckets are about 20 feet from you. Verdict - If you don't have to worry about the lighting (both literally and figuratively) this is an amazing device at an incredible price. I believe that wildlife watchers, guards and hunters will find this device very useful. It won't give you the same image as the $40k GPNVG goggles but for the price they get 5 stars.
