I bought this lens about 3-4 months ago and have used it a lot since then. I was a big fan of Sigma and the Art series lives up to the hype. Image quality, sharpness, bokeh, color and autofocus are amazing. It's heavy and big, but well balanced and comfortable. I was used to holding much larger lenses, so the size and scope of the lens didn't bother me at all. Low light performance is very impressive with minimal searching and searching. Barrel distortion is practically non-existent. Some images have issues with blue CA, particularly in brighter scenes at maximum aperture, but they go away as you turn down the aperture. This was only an issue with some product photos, particularly bright metal items with edges (silver coins and jewelry). The lack of an operating system is frustrating at times, but rarely an issue as I use a tripod for most portraiture. Weight might be an issue for some, especially with a mirrorless camera. However, the balance is excellent on a vertical grip 80D or similar setup. I would highly recommend this lens to serious portrait and wedding photographers. It's great for landscape photography and very limited for still photography due to the minimum focus distance. At half the price of a Canon f/.4 USM IS lens with higher resolution and sharper, it might be worth forgoing an operating system. If you absolutely need an operating system because you work a lot in low light, go for the Canon, otherwise the Sigma is a near-perfect lens. Check out Dxomark for its review.
