I usually just buy the cheapest general purpose scrubbing pads off the supermarket shelf. When it comes to cleaning, these cheap all-purpose sponges work a lot like these sponges. So for me the question mostly revolved around the price. Unfortunately these sponges are not available at the time of writing this review so their price is not listed. I know these sponges are considered biodegradable and environmentally friendly. These are two of the most common buzzwords when it comes to marketing these days. So I have no idea if these sponges are actually better for the environment. Last year, New York Magazine listed the best eco-friendly alternatives to traditional sponges. I checked the item and this product was not listed. This suggests that these sponges are not particularly environmentally friendly. Since the cheapest sponges work just as well and most of us don't know how to judge the true eco-friendliness of a product, the best I can suggest is that once these sponges are back on the market and will be available at the advertised price, compare just check the prices and then go from there.
