Great for younger kids or adults who are tech-shy.

This Chromebook was purchased for family members to replace an outdated Chromebook. They wanted the exact same Chromebook as before, but it's been discontinued. We chose this model because it has the same screen size, similar if not the same keyboard and mouse layout. The biggest difference is that this computer has a matte screen typical of monitors, while the other has a glossy one. I know it's a different touchscreen, but I haven't tested the touchscreen on this new model. The family member will not use this feature. The Chromebook is primarily used for email, social media, messaging, and casual video watching. A very random observation. There will be no heavy gaming or word processing. For me, a computer of this size and quality would not suffice for what I do on a personal laptop, but for a member of my family it is ideal. The reason Chromebooks are so good for school kids, the elderly, or the computer illiterate. It's easy to set up and use. It uses Google's security features, launches quickly, and has decent keyboard and screen response times for average typing. I would definitely recommend this for school age kids between elementary and high school for distance learning and for parents or grandparents who may not be as tech savvy. Pupils and students may need a reliable Windows laptop for the software required for certain classes, while gamers will have to look elsewhere.
