I've been wearing these boots for about a year, mostly shore diving in Hawaii. The thick sole is comfortable for walking on rough terrain, including rocks. The new boots are great, everything I could wish for with one major caveat: at least in my case, I wouldn't be able to wear my regular flippers anymore. The boots didn't fit in the fin pockets, and even if they did, I would have had to stretch the spring straps too far. Instead I had to buy fins one size bigger, in my case XL fins. I'm a medium sized guy and the big fins put extra strain on my muscles. As another reviewer said, the sole ended up separating from the upper, although I was able to fix it with glue. This was really disappointing as these boots are marketed as tough and durable. I've never seen anything like this in 16 years of diving. If this has been fixed on newer boots they should be sold out. I found them comfortable and I think they are great for shore snorkeling if you don't mind having to fix the split sole but most importantly make sure they will work with your existing fins. Eventually I had to revert to more traditional boots so I could wear properly sized fins.
