Virtually no difference in SoC temperature with this heatsink than the original Canakit heatsink. This SoC heatsink is taller than Canakit's heatsink. I calculated the surface area of the fins for both heatsink types. The fin area of the SoC Canakit is 784 square meters. mm. The cooling fin area of the SoC is 1120 square meters. mm. This cooler has 5 fins while the Canakit cooler has 7 fins. I have an upward blowing cupcake fan that sits on top of the case with no lid. Maybe thermal tape on a Canakit heatsink is better. I'd try using thermal paste instead of tape, but it's impossible to hold the heatsink in place without modifying the spring.
