My wife bought this Google Nest 2 pack router and I just set it up. I was a little worried that setting up a second router as an access point would be difficult - there are several other reviews here that talk about the difficulties and need for Google phone support. After I finished configuring these two routers as a mesh network, I just wanted to share my experience briefly. The whole process literally took less than 10 minutes. It took me about the same amount of time to open the two boxes and remove the routers, power cords, and Ethernet cables as it did to set up the mesh network. Okay, unpacking the routers took less than 10 minutes, but I just want to say that the installation was quick. I have a router plugged into an outlet and then into a modem. I launched the Google Home app, selected "Add a new device" and added a router. I'm picking the same SSID/password as my old network it replaced. The app then asked if I wanted to add a grid point. Before clicking yes, I plugged the second router into an outlet in another room. First, the Google Home app couldn't find my second router. Oh no! I tried again and he still couldn't find it. I tried a third time and still no luck. (By this point I was starting to worry). Found on fourth try! Unfortunately, it took me four attempts to find my second router, but in fact each attempt only lasted about 5 seconds. After it found my second router, my mesh network was fully set up. I just wanted to jump in here and let any potential buyers know that setting up these two routers as your primary router and access point was very quick and easy, so don't be intimidated. As long as you have a Google Nest router connected to your modem, the rest of your mesh network can be Google Nest routers, Google Nest hotspots, or any combination of these.
