Both routers require a wired internet connection for installation

With the help of Google/Nest this took about 75 minutes. After being on hold/Google finding the right person to talk to, they finally found out if you bought a 2 router pack (4x4 AC2200) which I used to hardwire a second router (which I wanted to use as access to the mesh) need network). dot) to the main router. Essentially, I daisy-chained the ethernet from the main router to the secondary router's ethernet input. Long story short, the secondary router still required a direct internet…

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Edit. After the update they got better. I'm already a big fan of Google Wifi devices, I've installed almost 100 devices and besides the typical installation problems that are easy to solve, I'm very happy to recommend Google Wifi to others. I saw them as an improvement on an existing model but had problems installing them from the start. I started using the new Google Home app, created my location, and then spent the next 45 minutes watching everything spin and freeze, waiting for nothing to…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Amazing improvement in speed and coverage

I upgraded from a cable company (Frontier) NVG468MQ router that is in my living room. I have an internet connection of 150 Mbit/s and even 5 meters away from the router the speed was average (30-60 Mbit/s). My WIRED devices even performed poorly, which was frustrating for me. I switched to the two piece Nest Wifi router and installed the first router in place of the old router. Speeds were greatly improved just before the mesh network was set up. I ran several speed tests with the old router in

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Pretty much everything ok

It works great no matter what anyone says

Attention to those who were shocked by the reviews! It was a very simple setup. Reading the reviews, many people complain that it is two routers instead of one router and one point. People say it's very difficult to install since there are two routers, that's all nonsense. I'll walk you through my setup. All you have to do is boot up Google Home, connect your first router to your modem and set it up. Then bring the second router into the room you want to be in, mine was upstairs. and you just…

Second router is easy to set up as an access point

My wife bought this Google Nest 2 pack router and I just set it up. I was a little worried that setting up a second router as an access point would be difficult - there are several other reviews here that talk about the difficulties and need for Google phone support. After I finished configuring these two routers as a mesh network, I just wanted to share my experience briefly. The whole process literally took less than 10 minutes. It took me about the same amount of time to open the two boxes…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Legacy model

Works as advertised when your patient is awake and ready to try.

I used to have the original Google WiFi mesh (with Onhub TP connection) then it worked like a charm but when I had 3 people in the house they were watching 4K movies/TV, playing and streamed Google WiFi not handle it. I switched to an ASUS router to get rid of the congestion, but there were dead zones that I just had to live with. Then came Nest WiFi. I've been going back and forth to get this set of two routers or a router and a set of mesh points. I was leaning towards a 2 router package as I
