Review on 🚴 Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro HS 379: Premium Studded Mountain Bike Tire (Black - 27.5 x 2.25) - Enhance Winter Cycling Performance! by Alfonso Tipton

Excellent winter mountain bike tire for trail ice and light snow

Nokian Extreme directional studded tire (rear) for several years, but you can easily use this tire both front and rear. In light snow up to 2 inches deep and of course on ice, this tire is unbeatable. In deeper snow, the studs don't matter, but the tread pattern offers better traction than most conventional tires. Nokian) shine and pay for themselves when you're flying downhill and cornering only to hit a chunk of ice that's bare or lightly snow-covered. With traditional tires, you'll slam fast and hard into the frozen ground before you know what happens. With these tires you might not even know there is ice as you drive through the ice as if you were on mud; no problem even if you tilt the bike in a curve. They really are incredibly good - and worth the investment. If you ride where there is ice and don't buy them, use the money for a better helmet and maybe some armor. Put simply, if you're into off-road cycling in the winter, these are for you. However, if you drive mostly or exclusively off-road, studded tires are more suitable and also cheaper. Of course you can use them on the road, but they are slower, heavier and much noisier than chevron-type lug treads because these tires have fewer lugs and lower height. But if you want to bike to your ice fishing lodge or ride down a mountain trail in the winter, this is for you. And as another poster said, they're just as easy to change as regular tires and don't need tube protection because the inside of the tire is smooth. So grab a few and have fun on the ice!
