Review on 🐝 Assorted 12 Sheets of STOCKMAR Modeling Beeswax by Amy Mcleod

Revainrating 5 out of 5

neat and clean alternative to plasticine

I bought this modeling wax as a gift for my nieces aged 5 and 7 as my two older children aged 4 and 6 loved it enjoy . These are wonderful things. This allows children to create and sculpt without making a mess. It's quite a hard wax and the slabs feel too hard to shape, but you just hold it in your hands or under your arm when your hands are usually cold and it will soften. It hardens in a few minutes but is easily reheated. I love telling my kids a story while we hold the wax. You can get a good five or so play sessions with 1/4 or 1/3 of a hand, but after that it takes on a weird texture. Simply set the used pieces aside and use them to decorate the outside of the candles, the wax will burn with the candle. Because wax hardens after molding, it can be used to make toys. Children make incense burners for their wooden animals as well as food for them. It does not rub into the carpet like clay and small particles can easily be removed with a vacuum cleaner. This is a great gift for a child who has already messed up a lot of art supplies as the box is quite small. I only see four downsides: kids want to keep their creation, which means they want to use more than reuse, but end up reusing wax from old creations - finished products usually pose a char hazard, so if you have kids or toddlers like I have to be very careful - kids love to use more than one color on something, then don't take it apart before softening and reusing it, so we get a lot of brownish color - it's expensive, nothing else, this wax is expensive, but the price on Amazon is pretty good, especially with free shipping. Last note - don't worry about ordering because of the weather. I bought it in August and live on the bay. The leaves are separated by wax paper, so they can easily withstand a heat of over 100 degrees. I also tried putting a sheet of wax in the freezer and after it reheated it was fine, so it should be fine in the winter. The leaves are about 1/4 inch thick so they don't become brittle in cold weather like thinner candlewax leaves.
