Vevor 3 is an inferior imitation of a real engraving block ball vise. While this works for general engraving you might do sometime at Blue Moon, it's not for real jewelry work. But they are suitable for wood carving, which is why I gave them 2 stars. Problems: the tolerances of all parts are just too big, and all moving parts have too much play - the two slide chucks have about 3mm play. at the top, causing the set to lack precision. The holes are threaded and the pins are all smooth, and again the tolerances are too tight; The pins will jiggle and as you begin to engrave the vibrations of the hammer will gradually nudge the piece - the picture shows a piece of 20 gauge silver which constantly eluded various combinations of pins for this reason.
