My CKD Cat's Food is Eternally on Backorder

So my cat has CKD and obviously has to have a special diet. I normally get her royal canin (and there is one one kind she will even go near because she is the pickiest of the picky). I've tried literally every other food on the market and have not had much success minus the Forza food sold here on amazon (she gets tired of that though and I have to swap) So, I looked through the values on this and they are within acceptable levels to feed a CKD cat, so I went for it. She actually will eat this.

Pros
  • Delicious and irresistible taste for cats
Cons
  • Can be hard to find nutritional information on the product

My cat really likes this

I can't comment on taste, because I've never tasted it but my cat seems to like it! I add a bit of extra water to make sure she's drinking more, which is one reason I bought this. Anyway, only negative is that the chicken pieces are kind of "stringy" and she doesn't or can't eat them. I give them to the dog.

Pros
  • Weruva
Cons
  • Can be messy to serve and clean up after

Didn’t quite work good for me

My cat is more of a surf than a turf gal, but I decided to give this food a shot to see if it would help her kidney disease. She ate it a bit at first but eventually decided that it wasn’t for her. Obviously it’s a high quality food but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Fortunately ebay refunded the money quickly without my having to return the remaining cans, which I donated to the local animal shelter.

Pros
  • Provides essential fatty acids for a shiny coat
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cats with chronic health conditions

Smells and looks delicious!

I have a sick kitty and he refused everything put in front of him for two days. He has FIV, makes him fragile. Tonight, I heated up this food, and for the first time in days he perked up, cleaned up the bowl and is now sleeping with a full belly. No vomiting! His gut sounds normal. Finally a good cat food without junk and fillers. Somewhat expensive, but he is worth it.This cat food smells like home cooking and it has chunks of meat and vegetables. I will buy again.

Pros
  • Cat loves it but I have to cut the slices because they’re too long
Cons
  • May not be available at all pet stores

Found Weruva while doing an inordinate amount of research on wet cat food for my furbaby Alvin when he developed kidney failure. Did not realize that most cat foods contain ridiculously high levels of phosphorous and sodium. This version of Weruva TruLuxe fit the bill perfectly . grassfed Australian beef with bits of pumpkin, sweet potato and carrot. He loved it! Although not specially formulated for treating this condition, and the high cost factor, it was well worth it. It is made of human…

Pros
  • Helps support immune system function
Cons
  • Can be difficult to feed to cats with limited mobility

Mostly gravy for my opinion

I purchased a 24 can variety pack and was very surprised to find that the cans are about 50% gravy and therefore not much meat. The cats seem to like the taste okay, but they are hungry a short time after eating because of the lack of solid ingredients in the can.Won't be buying this stuff again and it wasn't cheap cat food!

Pros
  • The only drawback is it's not made in thee USA.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to find in stock online

Expensive and cats quickly lost interest

For the price, I would pass. Our cats ate it the first couple of times, after that, none of them wanted it. We have 8 cats…. That's my feedback.

Pros
  • Grain-free, Gluten-free, & Carrageenan-free. No corn, wheat or soy. Free from any artificial colors & preservatives
Cons
  • May not be a cost-effective option for owners with multiple cats

Cat likes it good for me

Wasn't sure my cat would like these but wanted to see. He likes them so far, but they do have a lot of gravy in some. I will mix some of the extra gravy with his dry food later in the day. Other than that, the food looks good enough to be edible for people.

Pros
  • Can be served alone or mixed with dry cat food
Cons
  • May contain carrageenan, which some experts believe can cause health issues in cats
