My desktop has an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, there is no appreciable airflow. At 11.8 volts the initial current was about 16 amps and then dropped to 5.5 amps when the device was tested. reached just over 400 degrees Fahrenheit. That corresponds to 205 degrees Celsius. The amp would increase if I gave a little more volts. It is confirmed to be able to draw around 200 watts of power at startup. Whether it can continue to deliver as much power at operating temperature depends on the environment, the ambient temperature and the flow through the cooling fins. My application is an instant-on auxiliary heater in a vintage HVAC so defrosting occurs long before the engine starts. Coolant becomes useful. At this high temperature I will mount it directly onto the existing core of the stock heater and stay away from the plastic.
