I have used oil occasionally for years. Some of the other products in this line are said to be bad for your hair due to buildup/silicone etc. I took a chance with this product as I thought it would be a (temporary) worthy replacement for my damaged, color treated hair my regular curly girl mousse/gel. All I can say is this. Where have you been all my life. I'm very impressed with how well this works to give me a healthy curly look. I've found that less is more. If you apply too much product, your hair will look a little greasy. That's good to know - because less product means it lasts longer. I simply apply a dose of this product - and a dose of oil in my hand - mix it - and apply to my (towel dried) head to the ends. I do my usual finger crunch and wrap myself in a t-shirt. I even sprayed my hair with cool air using this product and it did a great job. I'm very happy with the results I've had with it. I plan on continuing to use it but will be sure to keep an eye out for extensions etc to make sure I don't cut my hair due to wicking. Combined with oils from this line - I have no idea how it will be - but let's see, do yourself a favor and at least try it. Especially if you have colored curly hair. I'm so glad I took the risk
