As an embroiderer, I wonder how I ever lived without one. I hate sewing blankets because it's a labor intensive job. A good ruler, cutter and this mat will save you tons of time! I made 12.5 blocks, so I had a 12.5 inch square ruler and this cutting mat to line up the blocks. Wow, I dream of laying a ruler, making an incision, turning the rug over, making another incision and so on. No need to pick up the fabric again and turn it over and align the ruler again! Wow, this saved so much time and improved the precision of the cut pieces. The quality of this mat is amazing, it turns easily and even the cut surface is amazing. After cutting 20 blocks there is still no mark on the mat and no blunting of the spinning blade (always hold the blade perpendicular to a cutting mat for durability!). I love this size too! Highly recommended!
