Naturally clear sound but very poor performance for so much money and weight. It barely moves my only pair of Cerwin-Vega SL-15 4 ohm speakers to the point where you can hear/let alone feel the bass. Everything sounds very simple. Turning up the volume when the bass is full only boosts the mids and highs. I connected these speakers to a 20 year old Radioshack Optimus receiver which had significantly more power, a fuller tone and more bass movement by using only half the bass - no volume cranked. So no more cool movie scenes with this Denon. The whole family misses him.
