I'm a locksmith. And while I hate how expensive Thorogoods are, I use them most of the time. I bought these boots as they are the first black pair I have seen. Tired of brown. But are they comfortable? Not during break-in. The boots are very stiff out of the box. It takes anywhere from a few days to a week or two to distribute. These boots are not waterproof so I noticed some chafing and rubbing that caused blisters on my feet and discomfort. These boots don't have the comfortable lining that waterproof boots have. Just straight, tough skin. They seem pretty durable. Just be prepared for the discomfort of breaking them.
