Worked with a fan who never had a remote control. There is a low hum of itself.

I bought this for a fan that is not designed to be used with a remote control. This is the fan in question: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07WZQ59MP?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I had to crop and modify my jbox to place the receiver in the ceiling and still plug it in. because the fan has no space for the receiver. I was surprised but it works fine. However, the fan light is not dimmed, but it can be the fan itself. Worst of all, it hums when it's on. You get used to it, it's not super loud, but it's there.
