We bought three of these remotes as we thought they would make a good addition to our renovation. One day a contractor installed the first. it did not work. So we thought we had a dud. Tried again and failed again! Tried the last and the same! I tried to return it but apparently the return window closed a month after receiving the item. So now they have my money and I'm stuck with remotes that don't work!

First of all, the pairing instructions in the user manual were wrong during installation. There are correct instructions on the receiver. Once I figured out what went wrong, it was easy to install. The timer seems to be completely broken. It turns on and off at random times, I've tried playing around with different buttons and taking out the batteries in the remote. It's amazing when the lights come on at 4am when you are in a deep sleep.

Installed unit worked great. LED dimming is excellent. The remote control has a good design. UPDATE: Now after 3 months of ownership the fan and lights turn on and off at random times with no rhyme or reason. Tried several troubleshooting steps with no solution. Based on this and several similar reviews with the same issues, I cannot recommend this product. I've had a Hampton Bay controller and remote for four years with no problems. I bought this for a fan that is not designed to be used with a remote control. I installed 3 of these ceiling fan remotes in my home to replace the old incandescent only remotes I installed 20 years ago. Two of my ceiling fan kits have dimmable LED bulbs and one has incandescent bulbs. All three fans are within range of each other's remote control. I followed the simple instructions for setting the frequency on each of the remotes after installation rather than using the factory defaults. I checked all functions including dimmer and fan timer. I have 3 of these remotes and can't get them to work independently. Remote 1 controls rooms 1 and 3. Remote 2 controls rooms 2 and 3 and remote 3 controls rooms 1 and 3. I can't get them to reprogram them any other way. Per the manual's recommendations, to reprogram you must press the bottom stop within 60 seconds of powering on.
