Review on SWISSELITE Glass Biloba Puff Sand Timer/Hourglass - Decorative Home, Desk, and Office Accents by Robin Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great visual cue for multiple purposes.

Pros: Hourglass arrived well packaged; important property of glass. Accuracy is very good, running for 30 minutes 14 seconds - close enough for my purposes. It is attractive and well made. The glass doesn't feel fragile, the thinnest spots are on the flat ends. It's fairly stable on either side and glides across my desk rather than tipping over with a slight nudge. You can stop the timer by laying it on its side. It wobbles but doesn't roll and doesn't need hammering. The sand appears to be fairly uniform in size and low in moisture content. When the sand is used up, very little residue is left in the upper chamber. The price is great - $9.99 with first class shipping. Usage: Of course, at will. I use mine in the office for two different purposes. It's amazing at reminding me to stop and stretch every half hour when concentrating on my computer, but it doesn't beep interrupting my focus. I try to finish most office meetings. within 30 minutes or so. Many people ask about the hourglass and then tend to adjust themselves as the sand flows. This provides a gentle way to end the meeting, especially for people with disabilities or those illustrating stories. Some people even turn the hourglass when the meeting starts, which helps us be more respectful of each other's time. I plan to order more to keep track of time while I focus on home projects. . The tag attached was crumpled and folded, making it less suitable as a gift. But I don't really care about the price.
