The needles are strong, there is no packaging.

There are a large number of needles at affordable prices, and beginners will appreciate the large selection in one place. The packaging itself isn't the best though, it fell apart on me in 3 short days and I'm a cautious adult. As a beginner I haven't gotten the extra storage space yet, but that would easily make up for the lack of packaging. The needles seem to be quite strong and easily used on 100 percent cotton/fleece blends with some silk cover and I find them to be pretty good for durability and I haven't snapped one yet.

These aren't a high quality set of needles but they are serviceable and inexpensive.
