Goes great with everyday shoes!

MKS Sylvan Touring Pedals are a great product. Much better quality than any similar looking pedals sold at any of my local bike shops. Their style is based on very similar touring pedals that were popular decades ago. Steel axle with solid aluminum body and divider plates. They are very well made and offer a nice wide platform for wide feet, casual or sports and skateboarding shoes, modern MTB style cycling shoes that you can also use but without the usual SPD spikes. I've recently started driving without them. modern MTB or road bike pedals without clips - and on some bikes even without old-style toe clips and straps. They suit my needs very well. They're attractive enough to be used on a prized vintage bike and would look just as good on your modern $3,000 Rivendell bike. They also work well in construction boots. While your old spring style Campagnolo racing pedals were designed for toe clips and had one side of the pedal to fit your shoe, they are reversible so you can comfortably fit your shoes or (even sandals) on either side. he lands. I really appreciate that – no more fumbling with the right pedal position when stopping frequently at traffic lights. A good alternative to the bulkier BMX style pedals or the cheap and poorly made plastic pedals that are more affordable. The bearings used (simple loose balls) can be serviced if necessary. The threaded aluminum dust cap on the end of the pedal is installed using a vintage Campagnolo pedal tool [part no. 710] removed, and while it's still quite rare in the US, MKS also makes its own (similar) small notched wrench for removing the dust caps. . - I found them recently at [.] (sold for $12.50). You can also use spline pliers in a pinch, but I really think these pedals are a shame to rip them apart. The bearings may feel a bit tight like they did at the factory. So you can either adjust them or just leave them as is and they will be smoother soon. Personally, I opened up my pedals as soon as I received them, adjusted the bearing cones and refilled with some lube. but that's just because I'm a bit picky and obsessed with stuff like that. These pedals should last for many thousands of comfortable bike miles. For the price and overall quality they are one of the best deals for cyclists.
