Review on Heavyweight Warmth And Comfort: MERIWOOL Women'S 100% Merino Wool Base Layer Thermal Shirt (400G) by Julie Geier

Think this will keep me warm under fanwear at hockey game

I adore hockey but haven't been able to find garments to wear under my sweatshirt-material fan wear that keep me warm in hockey arenas. I think this heavy graded merino wool base layer will do the trick. I wore wool unforms to school for years and they were always comfortable, hot or cold weather. I'll update this review after the first game this season.I wear a petite medium top in most every style I've ever tried on. This base layer fits just right. It hits me at mid-to-lower hip (doesn't stick out at the bottom of my hockey shirt that hits me at the top of my thighs). The sleeves fit when I turn the cuff back once. The shirt fits close to my body but not real snugly. It would look fine as an outerwear garment. The heavy-weight wool is by nature bulkier than synthetic performance wear base layers but it's not really noticeable under my medium sized women's hockey sweatshirt that has a straight seam from under the arm to hem. It is designed to fit closer to the body. The texture is soft and comfortable to me and I have very sensitive skin.If you are like me and performance wear layers leave you cold when you're supposed to be warm and hot when you want to be cool, try wool. If you choose cotton garments instead of synthetic when you have a choice, same goes.

Pros
  • It keeps me warm and dry at the same time, great shirt!
Cons
  • The shirt is not breathable
