I bought it to cock the hitch on the spare tire past a jeep. The length is good, but I have to use it "upside down" (the platform that the ball stud attaches to should be at the top, not the bottom) to pull my boat level. If you look closely at the picture you will see that the end of it (the end you plug into your receiver) is cut at an angle. So if you use it upside down, the angle ensures there isn't much contact with the inside of the clutch. it looks like it will probably fail now. I think the corner cut should save 10 cents on material in production. Bottom line - don't buy this if you plan on using it upside down.
