. and I do! This makes 2 types of cuts: a "band" cut and a "scratch" cut. You can also make different slices and cubes by slicing the vegetables before putting them in the slicer. I love mashing up raw carrot chunks (much longer and thinner than the pre-shredded bags you can buy), I see it as a carrot angel. Haar' with cucumber ribbon and other pieces like daikon and jicama for vegetarian 'noodle salads'. Steamed zucchini, carrots and parsnips are great substitutes for pasta with tomato sauce. If you think you'll eat a lot of these and you like gadgets, then this is a good buy.If you want to make the perfect fancy side dishes it's not as accurate as expensive spiralizers.(Or generally speaking I think some of the $250 models have more different shred sizes). How to use: read the instructions, you need to cut the ends of the veg to get good chunks, and you need to keep constant pressure on the handle as you rotate it, otherwise you won't get long unbroken ribbons or chunks When these types of things If it's not instinctive to you, it may take some practice. Don't give up after the first try, buy a big bag of carrots and practice twisting/squeezing to get it right get g. So far it's cleaned very well and fairly quickly, but you'll want to rinse it out immediately after use. because the veggie stuff will stick to the "cut" blade and when it dries up it will be difficult to peel off. (Carrots will turn the white plastic bit orange, but it won't hurt it.) I love it and use it almost every day, but wouldn't call it a must-have for everyone. Unless you're super excited about the prospect of chopped veggies for salads or veggies as an alternative to pasta, you probably wouldn't use it often. I would give this five stars.
