Review on 🐢 Anti-Chew Bitter Spray for Dogs by Particular Paws - Tea Tree Oil Infused Soothing Formula by Biswaroop Hawkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for hot spots, not good for stopping chews

I initially only gave this product 1 star because it didn't stop my dog from chewing on anything around the house. I stand by my assessment of this review (the body of which is below). BUT. I noticed that the bottle says it's safe to use on hot spots. When my dog got a hot spot on his back, I sprayed chewing gum (which has tea tree oil in it) on his back to try to soothe the spot and keep his. him from further arousal. IT WORKED MIRACLES. He stopped biting his back and the open wound dried up within two days. While I can't use this spray as an anti-chew spray on items, I'm sticking with an awesome hot spot spray. *** I usually only post reviews when I really like something, but my frustration with this product made me go to my computer to try and save someone else from the same mistake I made. So many rave reviews I figured this would definitely put my pup off eating slippers and shoes. I have a 10 week old German Shepherd puppy and anyone who has had a GSD knows they are a nightmare the first year (although worth it). I bought this spray and it has the benefit of smelling nice (slightly tea tree) and not sticky (like bitter apple sprays can be) - but I've sprayed it on my shoes at least 5 times and it comes back to hers right away chew. He's basically standing on my leg right now as I type this. I really wish there was something to replace those other horrible chew sprays that leave a sticky film on whatever you spray, but this product doesn't stop chewing. In closing, I really wish this product would work for me, as it does for all the people who give it 5 star reviews, but maybe something so gentle won't work for a more headstrong dog. I might have to resort to the tart-bitter apple spray.
