The function hit and missed.
I bought them to use with the library's sewing program. They work pretty well once you figure out what their trick is. It works best if you hang the needle on the needle threader with the hook facing up, then thread the hook and hold the thread and needle with one hand while pulling on the thread with the other. But I have found that some children (ages 9-12) have difficulty understanding and/or coordinating this. So you didn't really help me. They would probably be very useful for, say, adults who have trouble seeing the eye of a needle.
