Review on Ergon GP5 Ergonomic Grips by Kevin Lawson

I wanted to like them

So I wanted to like them, I really have but I'm completely amazed by their design. First I bought Ergon - GA3, and after a few days I saw Gp5 and wanted to wear them. On the GA3, the clamp bolt is on the opposite side of the lug (ie, 6 inches apart on the handlebar). So when you tighten it, it makes sense that it stays tight. The GP5 has the clamp screw at the end of the handlebar. I'm pretty sure the Hulk couldn't have tightened it tighter than I did and with a little effort they loosened up. I tried several times but never got them to work. I read a review about someone wrapping black tape around the steering wheel to make it work - of course it could work, but for $70 I'm not cheating. It should work great at this price point. Too bad they didn't work - it wasn't worth playing MacGyver on my bike or changing handlebars - I just went back to the GA3 as they work and were badass. Maybe they work on your bike. You're just not for me. Didn't feel 1 star was appropriate - if they worked I would have kept them as I liked the build.
