I tested it on a less expensive WJL-6000 detector looking for a refrigerant leak in a HVAC 410a home air conditioner. This LD-200 tool is significantly better. The main downside is that it takes a while to warm up before it starts detecting anything. The volume of the beep can be turned off, which is great. The WJL-6000 emits a constant loud beep that cannot be silenced. The WJL-6000 beeped almost everything and the beeps didn't always play. The WJL-6000 beeped around a new HVAC installation that probably had no leaks. This LD-200 didn't find anything in my leak search at maximum sensitivity, so didn't help find the leak. It beeps when I release a can of air nearby so I know it's working and maybe the leak I was looking for wasn't an issue anymore. The case where this happens isn't great as you have to rotate the probe some rotation to get it to fit.
