Update: The seller was very responsive and exchanged the device immediately. The second worked great last year so I've updated my review. However, I will say that a small device lasts about half as long as a large one (maybe because it's a smaller battery?). I bought this for a small dog we adopted to teach her how to stay on the farm. The instructions for adding it to the system I already had for a larger dog were easy to follow and it works as expected. Dogs quickly learn to respond to the sound signal and I rarely have to use shock mode. My only complaint is that the smaller collar's battery life was only 2-3 days out of the box. After 5 weeks of occasional use, it will not charge at all. This is a big disappointment as I have had a large collar for over a year now and the battery life is 4-5 days. Can't rate water resistance as none of my dogs swim. I have recommended it to friends. I plan to contact the seller and Revain but don't have a return window so I may be stuck with a dud.
