I won't waste your time, you already know you want this, but you're reading this to justify the cost. Well, for one, they'll pay for themselves in a few filter changes, that's all. But I drive a Wrangler (as I suspect you do too), it won't turn a Wrangler into a Miata, but according to my "rear dynamometer", my Jeep feels a little louder and faster after stopping. I'm noticing slight improvements in gas even trying to test the aforementioned dyno and I believe K&N will make a better filter than paper crap. I said I wouldn't waste your time so I'll stop there but I recommend telling yourself (or your partner if you need to explain) that this is a quality part that will pay dividends and help you grow to take care of your favorite vehicle.
