These are really high quality mounts. The studs above my chimney were oddly spaced and off-center, so the TV mount I bought wouldn't work. I was thinking of just attaching the bracket to a stud, but then I found this solution. It is very easy to attach a bracket to these brackets, giving you a wider choice of bolts for mounting. This is a simple fix and everything works great. The only downside is that your TV will be half an inch farther from the wall, but that's not a big deal to me.
