My 2010 Audi Q5 came from the factory with a dipstick tube but its 3.2 liter V6 didn't have a dipstick. Just a plug at the top of the pipe. When my oil gauge went south like this I replaced the gauge but also bought this dipstick. Regardless of what the sensor does or doesn't do, I now have a manual way to accurately check the oil level. That works great. Call me old fashioned, but being able to see my oil level is correct instead of trusting a gauge and getting a reading on my dash is worth every penny. Give Audi the opportunity to complicate such a simple thing.
