Review on Vibrant & Versatile: Prismacolor 92808HT 🎨 Scholar Colored Pencils, 60-Count for Artists & Students by Kelly Caballes

Requires better quality control; pigmentation is fine; no breakage

These pens arrived in bubble wrap and before I opened the envelope I heard the pens moving. So not good when it comes to pencils. It doesn't matter how careful I was. Pencils fell out everywhere due to the special packaging they come in. My guess is that the plastic packaging is meant to act as a pen holder but it is poorly constructed and open in the middle but sealed at the top so simply pulling the case out of the packaging would throw away the pens as they were stuck in the center of the hole . I looked online and SO many people had trouble with this pack. Prismacolor really needs to change this packaging. I don't keep my pens in their original packaging, I keep them in their pen holders, so this isn't a problem for me, but for those who want to use the packaging as a 'holder', be careful. As for the pens themselves, there were no breakages due to poor packaging. I checked the cores and some were wobbly and off center but most were fine. And I was happy with that, because most of my Premiers are useless due to off-centered cores. None of the wobbly ones broke when sharpened, but again quality control needs improvement. The pens are pigmented and you can do anything with them like Premiers if you work carefully and slowly. The variety of colors was overwhelming. I bought it on sale and overall I'm happy with it, but I won't buy it again and wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
