I wish I could give them a higher rating

Overall I really like these pens. They are super pigmented, smooth, overall great pencils. I wanted to give them a higher rating but I had a serious problem, especially with black pens. The cores were broken in many places, so they break almost every time you try to sharpen them (even a little). I've tried many shapes including ones that stabilize the pencil while sharpening and even a Prismacolor sharpener, all with new blades and they keep breaking. No matter how careful you are, they will…

Pros
  • Contains: 60 glitter crayons
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Great for blending and layering

I bought these crayons to use in adult coloring books. They have a few quirks, but I still think they're great pens! First the cons: - They are not 60 colors as advertised! There are 2 black and 2 white pens, 58 colors in total - The case is not very good. While it securely holds pens when closed, it's difficult to stand upright on a table and easily tips over (that can only be my subject's fault though). When some pencils become shorter with use, they also become difficult to remove from the…

  • Confident

Very pleasantly surprised

I'm a fan of Prismacolor Premiers and Faber Castell Polychromos but thought for the price I'd try a set of these just to see what they are are similar. I was impressed with the quality of these pens. They're not as smooth or as densely pigmented as art-grade pencils, but they're a few HUGE notches up compared to budget pencils. They lay down fairly smoothly, have decent color density, layer and blend effortlessly, and best of all, they have a very similar color range to Premieres. The quality…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Requires better quality control; pigmentation is fine; no breakage

These pens arrived in bubble wrap and before I opened the envelope I heard the pens moving. So not good when it comes to pencils. It doesn't matter how careful I was. Pencils fell out everywhere due to the special packaging they come in. My guess is that the plastic packaging is meant to act as a pen holder but it is poorly constructed and open in the middle but sealed at the top so simply pulling the case out of the packaging would throw away the pens as they were stuck in the center of the…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
