Review on Submersible LED Trailer Lights Kit - Waterproof Square Stop Turn Tail Truck Lights with Wire Harness & Bracket - Red/Amber Side Fender Marker Lamps - 3rd Brake ID Light Bar for Trailer Boat Camper Snowmobile by Donald Gore

Good price, bright light but no installation instructions.

My right rear light on my 8 year old cargo trailer blew out so I thought it would be a good idea to convert to LED. Shopping at local hardware stores I found that the cost of two tail light bulbs would be about the same as this kit so I settled on the kit. Looking at it, it seemed pretty easy. The "instructions" included in the kit is a small 2 x 3 inch piece of paper. The only useful thing about it is a very small picture of the trailer that basically shows the colors of the wiring. Okay, brown is running light. Yellow - brake and turn signals on the driver's side. The brake lights and turn signals on the passenger side are marked in green. Roger that. I'm about to hook up the new taillights and it was just as easy as expected. Then we come to the rear light strip. Some would call it "the third traffic light". The instructions say nothing about the connection. And yet the tail light wires are red/green/black. On YouTube everyone talks about the combination of white/green/red or some other color but not this set of wire colors. I come to Revain and ask how to hook this up. The most helpful answer was to just plug in the power, secure the ground wire, and cut the remaining wire. It took me some time to learn. and the cargo trailer is over 80 inches wide so it is NOT a third brake light. It can be wired as a brake light and it can function as a brake light but no matter how you try to wire it as a brake light. , it also flashes along with the turn signals. After reading the DOT laws, it turns out you just need to connect it to the trailer's brown "running light" wire and ground it. Don't waste time doing this, figure it out how to hook it up as a brake light. And since the people who sell this kit don't provide any wiring instructions or just a section about the 'rear perimeter' connector, I'm deducting 2 stars. Otherwise the light is bright and the hookup was easy, I'm not an electrician nor do I live trailers so as a regular guy trying it myself it should at least come with some info.
