Review on πŸ” Holulo Non-Slip Soldering Workshop Magnifier by David Dober

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much better than a normal assistant. The price must include a power supply!

Overall it's a big step up from the traditional table clamp and magnifying glass. For the price (I got a block with four arms) it should be! The crumpled brown packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but my main complaint is that for the price it should come with a power bank for the light and you don't need a USB charger or other USB port to power it. I usually use a large magnifying lamp over my work for this type of work, so I was a bit skeptical of small lights and magnifying glasses. However, it definitely has some advantages over the large swing arm, with more magnification and slightly better position adjustment with snake arms. The smaller magnifier also has a higher wattage than a regular table lamp and is easier to take out of your hand while you work. The downside is that this is essentially a one eye use case as it's not easy to see the same point with both eyes, at least with wide eyes like mine. The terminals are strong, with heat shrink tubing on the ends to protect the board. I found they were able to adequately hold even my smallest board (about 3/4 inch diameter). the weighted base is much better so you can easily move the whole thing a bit out of the way when not in use, but the device is pretty bulky when assembled anyway and doesn't have a good storage option without completely disassembling it. , which is a lengthy process. As long as you have enough space to store it, it should be a handy tool when you need it.
