This is a kind of retro style salt and pepper shaker. It attracts me. Reminds me of a diner from the 40's or 50's. The best thing about them is that they keep spices dry. In wet Florida conditions, this is a big help. Salt and pepper shakers have holes of equal size in the lid for salt and pepper. This is important to me because I love pepper on the table more than salt, and I love coarsely ground pepper. However, I'll have to wait and see if coarsely ground pepper works in a shaker.
