Review on πŸ”Œ Metabo GE 710 V 710W Variable Power Tool by Bobby Martinez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

would love to gift it to him 3.75

Made in Germany so the switches, cord and strain relief are first class and obviously no tear stains from slave labour. Even better, when you open the box it smells like a new tool, not the toxic waste like everything that comes out of China. The engine and electronic controls work smoothly. The tool is very powerful. Use both hands and get ready. It is able to work with detail if you pay attention to the direction of the cut. I've used it to flux clean big, thick, unsightly welds, so it worked for weeks and worked for up to 20 minutes. for now. It never stalled, just dropping the revs a bit and only at lower speed settings as it neared the steel-cut climb. I've only used tungsten carbide bits and had a bit of a loosening issue initially, but that hasn't been an issue lately (whether the collet needed to be run in or I was just pulling out the live crap is open to debate). Valuation. The bend is between the head and the body end along the suture running sagittal around the handle. This does not inspire confidence in the tool, but does not bother. It's just a pity that the Germans couldn't think of a better place for a seam or a stronger connection between body parts. Overall, I wonder if I shouldn't have grabbed the Makita, even though I have a German instrument fetish.

Pros
  • Power tools
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
