We live in Jacksonville, Florida and the tap water is gross. We typically refill about 10 gallons of water a week from the store's vending machines. We figured we'd buy one of these to reduce travel (particularly with the spread of the virus) and save some money. Installation was very easy, took less than 5 minutes. We ran the water for more than 30 minutes after installation to get it through the filter. The first 2 days the water was delicious and we loved it! We then noticed a white film on the water surface when we put it in various bottles, cups and dog water bowls. Oddly, no film formed on cooling, so we figured it was normal/safe and assumed it was just because our water is hard (look, we're not scientists, ok? haha), but the flavor was always there still very unpleasant and the mouthfeel was soapy. Even my dog turned his nose at him. We drove through it and thought everything was fine and it would go away. We kept the collector/filter running and tried to loop something through the filter. About 5 days later, my husband and I started having stomach pains. On the 7th day we decided to return the dispenser. The pain in my stomach went away when we returned to the water from the vending machine in the store. I don't know, maybe it's a combination of Jacksonville water and a filter that doesn't mix or something. I wish it worked, but it wasn't as great as I had hoped.
