I bought my first pair of these shorts a few weeks ago not knowing how they would perform. I'm 47 years old and have only been mountain biking for about 6 months, but I wanted to wear something more appropriate for my new activity. These shorts are pretty cool, very light, stretchy and comfortable. Even better are the many zippered pockets which I find very useful for taking things with you when travelling. The waist is also very flexible, with adjustable sections on either side. The soft shorts/underwear that come with these shorts are also surprisingly comfortable, although perhaps not as good as some of the specials the pros use. For me both are very good and the price is definitely right. I'm about 170.5ft 9" and the size Large fits perfectly with a small adjustment (tighter). I could probably fit a medium, but I chose large to have some wiggle room.
