Good features, low price

I bought it to digitize records. It's inexpensive for its features, easy to plug in, but as with most computer peripherals currently sold, the documentation is minimal and incomplete or just plain wrong. The worst flaw is to mention that a software CD is included in the package but it is not. One reason for the low price is that the hardware does not include production software, instead the free version from AUDACITY is recommended. In fact, the hardware works with any production software that can access the device driver. AUDACITY works great for me. Search it in a search engine and make sure you get the latest version and full download including the user manual. There are some very helpful tutorials in the manual that walk you through common tasks like burning an LP and setting up the data for transfer to a CD. Important: As already mentioned in other test reports, the hardware uses a single-channel conversion by default. To switch to stereo, you need to go to the Windows Control Panel and open the "Sound" tab. (The device must be connected to the USB port). If you are not sure which driver is correct, unplug ufo202 and plug it back in. You will see the driver disappear and reappear when you connect/disconnect. Open the driver and set the mode to 2ch. In actual use, the ufo202 does a good job of keeping noise down, and the ability to plug headphones into the monitor is useful as it makes it easier to hear problems and allows me to mark spots to look for during editing should pay attention. Also, the AUDACITY software appears on several "best audio editing tools" lists and I haven't had any instability or crashing issues on my Win10 laptop.
