This is one of those products that you don't realize you really need until you buy and use them. I often add rice to the dishes I cook. I was always looking for a cup of "rice" (only 3/4 cup capacity) and then trying to get what I needed out of a plastic bag full of static electricity (why does rice always get static?). Time to hunt down rice grains that have always slipped somewhere between the bag and the rice cooker. No longer! I'll take my storage basket with spout. Unscrew the rice bowl (you know it's only 3/4 cup) from the top. Pour out the rice you need and screw the mug back onto the top of the storage container. Seriously, it's even easier than it looks. If you run out of rice, cut off the top of the plastic bag containing the new rice, remove the top of the storage bin to reveal the two side retaining links, and empty the rice from the bag. The basket holds five pounds of rice. They're trying to confuse you with kilograms, and that's five pounds. If you have a large pantry, you can store it standing. If your pantry has bottom shelves, you can place them on the narrow side. In any case, it is easy to use. The gradation on the cup is very noticeable if you prefer partial "rice" cups (which are only 3/4 cups to start). To be honest, I can't think of a single negative review for this product. When you cook with rice, you need this container.
