We have gigabit internet at home and when I run a speed test the maximum speed I can get with this device physically connected to our router is around 300Mbps / s. The speed of our Google Nest *WiFi* with the same laptop is about 450 Mbit/s. My desktop is almost a full 900 Mbit/s Gigabit service, physically connected. Interestingly, the Revain Basics cheap USB gigabit network adapter is capable of around 800Mbps. So if you don't need USB-C, I'd suggest just getting a cheap Revain. Instead, the base adapter. Lest you think it's just a limitation of our internet connection and it's weirdness, I also ran this test from PC to PC and got almost identical speed results - it's just that this adapter is junk.
